Ladies Court Shoes for the New Year's Eve Ball

I've bought myself some ladies court shoes for the New Year's Eve ball I'm going to. The only problem I have is getting to and from the event - there's snow and ice everywhere and ladies court shoes aren't exactly designed for snowy conditions. I'm going to carry a pair of trainers with me and stow them away somewhere when I arrive at the event - I'm not breaking my neck for the sake of fashion, that's for sure!
Last year was the same, except I nearly did break my neck wearing court shoes to the event. Not only did I look ridiculous teetering around, but I just felt so uncomfortable, like I was going to fall at any moment.
My advice to people is be fashionable at the party, not before or after it - that way you get to keep all your bones in tact and you can get there safely and leave safely too.
