An Untidy Neighborhood Makes Everyone Look Bad

Untidy, littered streets make any neighborhood look bad. I've been an operator for a self drive road sweeper on and off over the years and I get to see the mess people leave behind. It makes it look like there is no personal pride in the people who live on that street or road. Sometimes people think it is only in poor neighborhoods that you see this, but that is not necessarily true. You can drive through nice middle class neighborhoods and see McDonald’s wrappers and such on the ground, especially if there are woods nearby. Some people only see as far as their own driveway, and will not bother to pick up trash if it’s not on their property. This is a reflection of their upbringing. If you are raised to prize cleanliness and to take care of what you own, you will not allow trash and litter to pile up near where you live. You do not even have to be a homeowner to have this attitude. There are many renters who will clean up litter before a homeowner will. If you were raised in a tidy way, you will carry on doing the same thing.
